Kilgore vs. La Vernia is a rematch of last year’s state semifinal, which the Bulldogs won 38-13. The quest for a trip to the 2025 UIL state championships is nearing an end. The finals in all classifications will be played Dec. 17-20 at AT&T Stadium — aka Jerry World (and lately Dallas Stadium) — in Arlington.

Ventura boasts the state leader in receptions, wide receiver Jack Cunningham, who has 116 grabs for 2,041 yards and 26 touchdowns. He catches passes from UNLV QB signee Derek Garcia (3,369 passing yards, 36 TDs; 750 rushing yards, 12 TDs).

The quest for a 2025 PIAA state title has reached the last round, with the final championship game set for Saturday night at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg. In Class 6A, the championship has come down to Pittsburgh Central Catholic vs. La Salle College. The winner will be crowned as the 2025 PIAA 6A state champion.
